Red Circle Authors publishes the works of a carefully selected and curated group of authors within its series Red Circle Minis and the Circle Editions imprint, with the aim of showcasing Japan through the lens of storytelling and fine writing.

Red Circle Minis, which launched the company’s publishing programme, is a series of newly commissioned works of fiction from a select circle of leading contemporary Japanese authors, each of whom are profiled on the company’s website. Each book in this series is a first edition published in English first, while Circle Editions publishes a boarder complementary selection of writers and content.

Japan’s long history of blending brevity and beauty, as well as the nation’s history of elegant and brilliantly creative short form literary formats, are the reasons behind why Red Circle decided to launch its publishing programme with its series of mini books, Red Circle Minis.

All the authors part of Red Circle’s curated group of writers has agreed in principle to write at least one original story for the series.
